Ministries
Calvary Hills Baptist Church has a variety of ministries to help you become more knowledgeable as a Christian and to help you find areas of service within the church.
The ministry ages range from Mother's Day Out for preschoolers to a weekly fellowship time for the Senior Adults. Small group Bible studies are available during the week as well as during Discipleship Training time before the Sunday evening service.
The Music Ministry offers traditional choirs, and we are seeking people who want to play hand bells or be part of the Youth Praise Band, which practices on Sunday afternoons. The Church is open to growing its music ministry to appeal to the young and the old.
The Student Ministries encompasses Youth in middle and high school and a Single Adult Department that sometimes joins the Youth for activities. Besides Youth Camp and weekly Sunday night activities, the Youth perform mission projects, such as visiting nursing homes, helping at the Food Bank, and traveling for a week to help rebuild homes in Louisiana after the effects of Hurricane Rita.
The Women's Ministry is led by a planning group that seeks to serve the needs of young mothers as well as grandmothers. Some meet for crafts twice a month, and have made receiving blankets for the NICU at University Hospital. A regular Bible Study meets during Discipleship Training Time. Topics have included "Being Mary in a Martha World" and "The Frazzled Female."
Mission activities for children include Girls in Action (GAs), who meet every Wednesday evening and creatively study missionaries. The Royal Ambassadors (RAs) enjoy studying the Bible and "guy" activities such as fishing and playing basketball.
